Program Description

The KU campus covers over 182 acres and is home to more than 35,000 students from all over the nation and the world. KU has 81 departments in 19 colleges & divisions, and 18 graduate schools and it has over 1,400 full-time faculty members with over 95% of them holding a Ph.D. KU has particularly strong Humanities and Asian Studies Departments. Furthermore, Korea University Business School is the only and the first business school in the country to have acquired both European Quality Improvement System accreditation, in combination with the accreditation granted by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Many courses are offered in English, and is designated in the course search on KU’s website.

CREDITS
Students must study full time at the home and host institutions. With the completion of the Request for Prior Approval of Transfer Credit of Study Abroad Programs form, your credits (not grades) will transfer toward your degree at UMass Boston. This form can be obtained from the Study Abroad office.

CURRICULUM
KU is nationally recognized for its commitment to teaching and academic excellence. KU has particularly strong Humanities and Asian Studies Departments along with the recently established Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS). KU is also renowned for its professional schools of Law, Medicine and Business Administration.

ELIGIBILITY
University of Massachusetts Boston students only. Undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students who have currently completed at least one year of full-time study with the most recent semester completed at UMass Boston are eligible. Students must be in good academic standing (at least 2.75 GPA) with no disciplinary problems. No language requirement is necessary. However, some knowledge of Korean would insure the maximum benefit of this study abroad program.
